The ones I made today, we simply added Strawberry preserves and rolled them up, but you can pretty much add anything to the top of these that you'd like, from fruits to plain sugar to one of my favorites Nutella!!
For this recipe I used:
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
2 cups of milk (i use fat free, and it works just fine )
about a tsp of salt
1 tsp of Vanilla extract (this is just a preference thing lol, it's not a must if you don't like it)
and a tiny pinch of nutmeg (now this is definitely just a preference lol, most people don't add that to theirs)
|The Eggs are sitting on top of the toaster, hiding from view lol.|
Go ahead and preheat your skillet to medium high, brush it with oil, or add a little butter, I used a nonstick spray and it worked just fine.
Add the eggs and about 1/2 cup of milk in a bowl and beat, than add the flour, salt, vanilla extract and nutmeg, keep beating while adding the rest of the milk until it's smooth.
now pour about half a cup to a cup (depending on how thick you want them) of dough into your preheated pan, let it sit for a couple of minutes, you'll see the edges turning to a more cooked state, once you notice that, check the Pfannkuchen by taking your spatula and lifting it up just enough to see that the bottom has browned enough, if so, flip it over. Let the other side brown for a couple of minutes and voila! You have your very first Pfannkuchen. Depending on the size of your pan and how much dough you use per Pfannkuchen this recipe should yield you about 6 to 8!
|Just start stacking them up!|
I think the next time I make this again, I'm going to actually be making Apfelpfannkuchen, Apple Pancakes, if so I'll be sure to add the recipe.
